Important to KNOW

Many state constitutions are currently interpreted to protect the Right to Abortion— those of Alaska, California, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Jersey and New York. (But Kansas is at work to reverse this.) States with an affirmative Right to Abortion enshrined in their law include: Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. States that permit abortion through all nine months of pregnancy include: Alaska, Colorado, Illinois, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont, along with Washington, D.C. Virginia has liberalized its abortion laws and may soon allow this.

Roe v. Wade and its accompanying decision, Doe v. Bolton, do permit abortion through all nine months based on “physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman’s age”. So, when states select to enforce this ‘Right’ they are looking toward the potential for Roe to be overturned.

So must Ky! We must WORK to ensure a Right to Life in our state.
