KRLA PAC Follow Up

What was the success rate for the KRLA PAC candidates? Which of those whom we endorsed or recommended were elected on May 22? Of the 27 contests in which we made an endorsement, our candidates prevailed in 20.

Of the remaining seven, four were open-seat contests. Three of these incumbents lost to their Republican challengers.

actual pro-lifer. She is a member and officer of Meade-Breckinridge Right to Life, a KRLA affiliate. If every pro-life Kentuckian gets behind Nancy Tate, we could defeat Jeff Greer and send a powerful pro-life message.

Take Heart – All Is Not Lost

For thousands of pro-life advocates, the vote in Ireland last Friday by its people was disheartening and repulsive. Disheartening that two-thirds of the majority voted to repeal its country’s Eight Amendment, which protected unborn babies and mothers by recognizing that both are valuable human beings, who deserve a right to life. According to pro-life campaigners there, more than 100,000 have been spared from the pain and death of abortion thanks to constitutional protection. Ireland had become one of the safest places in the world for pregnant mothers and their babies, with one of the lowest maternal mortality rates in the world. Without the Eighth Amendment, there is nothing to prevent lawmakers from legalizing abortion for any reason up to birth.

Katie Ascough of Love Both said this was not the end. “To everyone who voted No, there is plenty of reason for hope. This campaign has uncovered a dynamic grassroots and a new generation of Irish people

prepared to stand up and fight for the right to life,” she said.

We in Kentucky Right to Life are tracking more pro-life responses in the next few weeks and will report them here.

I am reminded of the poem written by Ethelwyn Wetherald that says:

My orders are to fight;

Then if I bleed or fail

Or strongly win, what matters it?

God only doth prevail.

The servant craveth naught

Except to serve with might

I was not told to win or lose ---

My orders are to fight.

And I’d like to add that, with God’s help, and our respect for the dignity of each and every human life, we will prevail with our strong compassion for preborn babies, their mothers and other vulnerable human beings.
