How many abortions have there been in the USA? The statistic of 60 million is commonly quoted. What percent of these were caused by Mifepristone (RU-486) or similar pills? A CDC statistic for 2014 is 23%. 

The abortion pill, RU-486 or other, does not prevent conception, but is an abortifacient that ends a pregnancy. Its potential health dangers are well-documented, and it puts the abortion in the woman’s own hands and home. For the vulnerable, discouraged woman, the upside to this scenario is that the effect of the pill causing the abortion may be reversed if she takes the Abortion Reversal Pill (ARP) within 72 hours, preferably within 24. 

The ARP was recently the subject of a peer-reviewed study, helping to establish it as a treatment for the woman who has changed her mind after taking RU-486.
