The Verdict on Kentucky's Ultrasound Law
by Margie Montgomery, Executive Director, KRLA
On Wednesday, September 6, at 9:00 AM, Judge Greg N. Stivers will rule whether Kentucky's Ultrasound Law will remain legal or be consigned to the dust bin of successful legislative efforts that were overruled.

This will be a "bench trial"--not really a trial, but a verdict read from the bench. If you would like to hear the verdict, join us at the Gene Snyder United States Courthouse, 601 West Broadway, Room 239.
Kentucky Western District Judges David Hale and Greg Stivers.
Judge Hale heard the Ultrasound Case; Judge Stivers will deliver the verdict.
Upcoming trial
A challenge from the ACLU, EMW Clinic and Planned Parenthood, against maintaining Kentucky's safety measures for abortion clinics, is yet to come to trial. If these safety measures are overturned, then Planned Parenthood could begin again to provide abortions at their Louisville Clinic.

This year has been stellar so far for pro-life activists! We are grateful to be among the seven states that are nearly free of abortion clinics. We are so proud of our pro-life Governor who is quoted in the linked article.

We ask for each supporter to stand firm and do whatever is possible to promote Kentucky's safety measures. You could write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper making fellow citizens aware of the legal challenge from the abortion industry.

Public opinion counts, and who could not agree that women entering clinics for surgical procedures requiring anesthesia-- procedures known to be risky-- are due protection made possible by an agreement with a local hospital and emergency team that may be needed to save the life of the mother.
