Sixth and final in the Amici series

When Planned Parenthood (PP) could not get a Transfer Agreement (TA) with any hospital in Louisville, it got one with U of Ky. in Lexington and Clark Memorial Hospital in Indiana. These were considered by the Bevin Administration (BA) too far from PP or in the case of Clark Co., not in Kentucky, which has the duty of oversight for the TA providers. Its jurisdiction does not extend to Indiana.

AG Beshear’s Argument 1 is that a state cannot rely on another state to protect a woman’s 14th amendment right. That was in response to the BA statement during the trial that a woman can get an abortion in Indiana, Tennessee, Ohio, etc., which is already true given that Kentucky currently only has one abortion clinic, the EMW in Louisville.

Thus, AG Beshear’s statements that Kentucky should let Indiana contract with PP in Louisville for a TA, but should not consider other state’s abortion clinics to be suitable for Kentucky women, seem contradictory.

Argument 2A says that “The BA has unduly burdened women seeking to exercise their constitutional rights” and 2B states that TAs “provide no benefit to clinic patients.” We disagree.

Regarding Argument 2A, as stated above, women currently do get abortions in nearby areas over state lines, which shows they are not unduly burdened in their pursuit of an abortion.

As for 2B, we lobbied for TAs way back in the 1990s, and have never reversed our position on this important service for women.

TAs may not be frequently needed, but they are important to have should the need arise. A current story that underscores this fact is here. Another is here.

We urge the judges of the Sixth Circuit Court to uphold Kentucky Law.

Donna was attacked at EMW clinic on 4-12. She has had surgery and is doing well. She should be released from the hospital tomorrow, 4-16, and then spend some days at a rehab center. Thank you to ALL who have prayed and asked for information regarding her well-being. She was attacked in the course of her sidewalk counselor ministry at EMW. The YouTube video shows a previous incident when she was shoved down on the sidewalk.

A story with more details on the injury and a potential lawsuit is here.

Thank You, Kentucky State Legislators and Governor Matt Bevin

The four bills that were introduced by Kentucky’s Pro-life Caucus on January 10 ALL passed the current legislative session. We know our Governor will sign them all!

SB 227, introduced on Feb. 15 to protect Born Alive Infants, did not make it to the finish line. We hope this bill will be re-introduced next year.

How does it feel to live in a pro-life state? Wonderful! What relief we pro-lifers feel (!), knowing that the majority of our legislators have the deepest concern for pre-born babies. Perhaps there are many things in your community and state that you would like to see changed, but at least we do have respect for life. The majority of us are holding firm that our U.S. Constitution means what it says about our Right to Life.

The bills, SB 9, the “heartbeat bill”; SB 50, abortion pill reporting requirements AND the doctor must explain the Abortion Pill Reversal Pill to the client; HB 5, no abortion for discriminatory reasons based on sex, race, color, national origin or disability; and HB 148, to end abortion if and when Roe v. Wade is overturned by SCOTUS— ALL had bipartisan support. That is further proof that Kentucky is, in the main, PRO-LIFE.

Will Kentucky be the first state NOT to have an abortion clinic? There is national speculation about that. With the ACLU challenges to our pro-life laws and bills not yet signed into law, we can’t say.

Currently we have only ONE, the EMW clinic in Louisville. And, Planned Parenthood has a clinic in Louisville with aggressive plans to establish a larger presence.

We can’t rest on our laurels but we can enjoy the moment. Today, we are passionately grateful and taking the day off. (But we are in the office!)

Enjoy the full testimony of Abby Johnson at the Public Protection Committee hearing.

If you were not able to hear and watch Gov. Bevin and his running mate, Sen. Ralph Alvarado, speak out for LIFE at the KRLA Rally for Life on 3/7/19, you will in the video.

Many of us were so disappointed that we could not enter the Capitol to be part of the Rally. When we arrived an EXTREMMMMELY long line of teachers, both at the Capitol and Annex entrances, meant that by the time we would get inside, the Rally would be long over. None of us realized this until we got there.

We thank EVERYONE who came from so many different areas of Kentucky. What a disappointment! Those who did get in could barely hear the speeches due to the commotion of the staggering crowd of teachers. It’s wonderful that we have this video!

“Fight for the sanctity of human life and know that as your governor and as your legislature we will continue to fight with you every step of the way!” - Gov. Bevin at the 2019 Rally for Life Thank you, Governor Bevin!

The Life Issues Institute has posted a new video with in-depth testimony and information about the abortion pill procedure. Did you know it can be more risky than surgical abortion?

Hats off to Brad Mattes, president of the institute. Brad was the featured speaker for the Celebration of Life Banquet in 2016.

Governor Bevin denounces recent infanticide legislation in some states. He promises to sign into law Kentucky’s pro-life bills that are passed during this legislative session.

During his State of the Commonwealth address 2/7/19 we heard a loud round of applause attesting to pro-life sentiment among our senators and representatives. “We are Kentucky.” We’re pro-life!

A pro-life friend and video/graphic designer has created a very powerful work of art depicting a D&E abortion. Known as J SZ on YouTube, she notes that illustrations or graphics can at times be more powerful than photos because some people refuse to look at real pictures of dismembered fetuses. This allows them to think about it. With the Dismemberment Abortion trial fresh in our hearts and minds, it strikes a very minor chord.

KRLA at times receives emails from pro-life artists, musicians and writers who desire to share their work with the pro-life public.

We will re-post some of their contributions now which were on the Forum of our previous website, and post others later on.

We apologize that a description of Dennis Bowling's music video posted on Dec. 22 was mistakenly attributed to Jeremy Robin who had sent his video quite some time ago. We have corrected that, and appreciate the gracious "Don't worry" we received. Below is Dennis Bowling's wonderful music video, Message from Heaven.

He also shares his inspiration, below:

Approximately 5 years ago I woke around 3:00am with a melody on my heart.

I got out of bed, got my guitar and began to play, and to write down the words that came. If you’ve listened to the song you know that the message is not immediately clear, even thru the 2nd verse it’s still unclear. The song came to me in the same way.

The intent of the song is to bring healing to those moms and dads affected by abortion. As I realized what I was writing I began to weep. I did not have a box of tissues available so used approx. ½ roll of toilet paper before the song was complete. I mention this only to be truthful about the details, to share that the song was difficult to write, and to state that I am not the creator of the song merely the writer. I truly believe that as the song is titled that it is a “Message From Heaven”.

I believe that The Lord and these children deeply desire for Moms and Dads to be free from the guilt and shame accompanying abortion. As the song states “it’s time to forgive yourself”. As a parent I understand the need to know that your child is OK. Knowing the love of our Heavenly Father I’m certain that He takes care of these little ones (“He works all things for the good to those who love Him”).

Since writing the song I have read and heard of “near death experiences” in which people died and went to Heaven and saw multitudes of children. When they asked about these children they were told that they were aborted.

My prayer and the desire of all of Heaven is that one day you will be reunited with your beautiful child.

Love and Blessings...
