In 1970, Margie Montgomery helped establish Right to Life of Louisville, Inc., the first chapter in Kentucky, after her televised response to a pro-abortion editorial on the local CBS affiliate prompted several phone calls from those in agreement. In 1973 she was co-founder of Kentucky Right to Life Association, Inc. and became a Lobbyist, Newspaper Editor, Chairman for Fund-Raising Committees and Chairman of the Kentucky Right to Life Assoc., Inc. Political Action Committee.

Diana Maldonado has served as KRLA President since 2011. She has served on the Board of Right to Life of Central Kentucky since 1986. Along with Monica Moak King, she started the annual Vigil for Life in Lexington, Ky., in 2007. The vigil is held close to the anniversary date of Roe Vs. Wade each year to commemorate the millions of lives lost to abortion and women who ave been harmed by abortion.
Diana worked in property management for 43 years. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and serves in the Lay ministry of the Word in her parish.
She and her husband Ramon were married 42 years prior to his death on February 5, 2018. They have three children and eight grandchildren. Diana loves to read and enjoy time with her family and friends.
Karen joined our staff in January of 2020. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Arts Education from Ball State University, and has over 15 years of office experience. Most recently she worked for the Franciscan Friars at Mount St. Francis Center for Spirituality. She has volunteered as a client advocate at a local pregnancy resource center, and is very involved her parish as a catechist, Respect Life committee member, and lector. She is excited for the opportunity to combine her daily work with a mission so close to her heart.
Karen is a native of Louisville, Ky., and grew up in Southern Indiana with three siblings and her parents. She and her husband, Dan Carney, were married in June of 2009, and live in New Albany, Indiana. Dan’s adult son (her stepson), John, is their only child. She is very close to her extended family, including her eight nephews and one niece, and spends as much time with family as possible.
