I was wondering if anyone here knows about the current state of stem cell research to say how significant this research is. The linked article is short and I wanted to dig up the research paper that’s behind the article.
However, it's not listed on the Novocell publications site. And I don't have a nature.com or pubmed subscription.
While reading the article two things caught my attention.
1. How significant is the fact that they had to use precursor cells that would mature in the body?
2. What is the current state of being able to control the signaling to ensure that tumors are not developed? Anyone know anything specific about the control mechanisms here?
Oh and I was curious if this research was the most advanced breakthrough in terms of stem cell research. Any other significant findings recently?
