House Bill 257: "Bar dismemberment abortion and require humane disposal of fetal remains."

Eternal Vigilance for Infernal Conditions

We applaud Governor Bevin's for bringing suit against Planned Parenthood in Kentucky (the PP of Ind. and Ky., PPINK). In his own words, "Although I am an unapologetically pro-life individual, I recognize and accept that there are some laws on the books that I do not necessarily agree with. However, we are a nation of laws, and my job is to ensure that they are followed regardless of my personal opinion. This administration will have no tolerance for the type of brazen disregard that Planned Parenthood has shown for both the safety of women and the rule of law. We will hold Planned Parenthood accountable for knowingly endangering their patients by providing illegal abortions at a facility that was not properly licensed nor prepared to handle an emergency."

This law is on the books in part thanks to KRLA lobbying in 1998 for abortion clinic regulations!

The requirement that an abortion clinic be properly licensed and prepared to handle an emergency is being debated and fought in legislatures across the U.S. See here, here and here. Note, "President Obama’s pro-abortion legal juggernauts will be arguing directly before the Supreme Court to ensure that no regulation whatsoever of the abortion industry be allowed" !! Should a Court decision approve this, then PPINK may argue that Kentucky's current legislation requiring that its clinic be properly licensed, is indefensible. What can we do? Educate, lobby, pray. Keep up the good work!
